Claeys Candy
Claeys Candy was established in 1919 by Jerome Claeys, the grandfather of the current president, Gregg Claeys in a garage on Blaine Avenue. The first candy produced was "Etabar", a caramel nut bar with icing. Other flavors of sanded hard candy were added, such as lemon, raspberry, watermelon, cinnamon, and many more. One of Claeys Candy's most popular products is "Chocolate Charlie", a Christmas special made of marshmallows and peanuts covered in chocolate. Today, Claeys Candy is a leading hard candy supplier in the United States.
