East Shore
East Shore Specialty Foods was founded in 1986 by Jeri Mesching, a teacher, homemaker, and innovative cook from the family home, which is located on the east shore of a small lake. She started the company with only one product, the Sweet and Tangy Mustard, and marketed it by conducting tastings in local gourmet food stores. Seeing customers enjoy the mustard with different foods like pretzels, Jeri came up with the idea of creating seasoned pretzels that complemented the mustard. Today, East Shore Specialty Foods is based on a custom-designed processing plant run by Jeri's family gradually expanding its product line.
