Ghirardelli
Ghirardelli was founded in San Francisco, California during the Gold Rush by Domenico Ghirardelli in 1852. Ghirardelli started a small confectionery shop in San Francisco where it quickly gained a reputation for its consistently high-quality chocolates. In 1893, Ghirardelli moved his business to a larger, state-of-the-art factory in San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood and was one of the first to use modern manufacturing techniques and steam-powered machinery. The company then began making chocolate bars and other confections on a larger scale. Today, Ghirardelli remains a well-known brand of premium chocolate, with its products sold in stores across the country and around the world.
