Jelly Belly
Jelly Belly began as the Goelitz family confectionery business in Illinois in 1869. The Jelly Belly jelly bean was created using natural purees in collaboration with David Klein who coined the name "Jelly Belly" as a tribute to blues musician Lead Belly. Since the 70s, there have been 227 different flavors of jelly beans in various mixes and packaging. Today, Jelly Belly remains the prominent producer of jelly beans in the world and popularized the flavor guessing game, “bean-boozled".
